Emotional Seasons: The soundtrack of Bet the Farm

[Unity Store Download]

This score was originally written for Bet the Farm (GameOff22) and later adapted into a Unity-ready music pack. The creative goal was to support a farming game with music that feels warm, grounded, and emotionally readable across long play sessions.

Rather than relying on synthetic loops, I built the sound around an acoustic palette to make the world feel human and lived-in. Fiddle and flute carry much of the melodic writing, while guitar and mandolin provide rhythmic drive and harmonic texture. Additional colours, including bagpipes and a homemade Nerdy-Gurdy, helped shape a slightly quirky identity that still fits the pastoral setting.

Seasonal writing approach

Spring focuses on lightness and renewal, with a gentle melodic shape and more open spacing in the arrangement.

Summer pushes energy and movement, with stronger rhythmic momentum and a more dance-like pulse.

Autumn becomes more reflective, leaning into warmth and mild tension as the harmonic language turns more nostalgic.

Winter is intentionally sparse, using space and restrained orchestration to suggest stillness and rest.

The set was composed to function both as standalone listening material and as in-game music that can support repetition without fatiguing the player.
