Bet the farm

Bet the Farm is a strategy card game, where you take on the role of Yara’s only child. Yara has left you her farming empire, but there's a slight snag: your greedy uncle owns half the company. He's only willing to sell if you can win a bet and prove you've mastered the ins and outs of running a farm in four years.

								<p>I am pleased that the Audio for this videogame was rated #14 out of 561 games submitted to the <b>GameOff22, </b>with a special mention on the github.com page.</p><p>As the composer for the soundtrack of the GameOff22 video game &#8220;Bet the Farm&#8220;, I had the pleasure of working with an incredible team of 13 to bring to life the auditory experience of the farm life and its changing seasons.</p><p>After seeing the concept art of the incredible main artist <a href="https://www.artstation.com/inezwandita">Nez</a>, I had a clear picture of what the game soundscape needed to be.</p><p>My goal was to create a chill and relaxed atmosphere with music that follows the natural rhythms of nature, so I chose a reduced sound palette and focused on acoustic instruments like the fiddle and flute as the main melody&#8211;carrying instruments.</p><p>I also used guitar, mandolin, bagpipes and my own homemade <a href="https://www.nerdygurdy.nl/">Nerdy&#8211;Gurdy</a>, to give the soundtrack a unique and organic touch.</p><p>By drawing inspiration from the ebb and flow of the four seasons, I was able to craft four main tracks that capture the essence of each season. Spring was represented by a blooming and sweet melody, Summer by a farmers dance, Autumn by a melancholic bitter&#8211;sweet track, and Winter by a still and chill one.</p><p>I am confident that this soundtrack will provide the perfect backdrop to the tranquil and joyful experience of playing &#8220;Bet the Farm&#8220; and I hope that all those who listen to it will enjoy it just as much as I enjoyed creating it.</p>
